Satishchandra B. Ogale

Prof. Satishchandra B. Ogale has had a long career spanning 46 years in Physics and Materials Science. He has worked extensively in several fields such as high temperature superconductivity, CMR manganites, Spintronics etc. His current research focus is on developing new materials for clean energy and sustainability.
He has won several National and International honours and awards. Notably, in 2026 Prof. Ogale received the International TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences) award in Physics. Only 16 Indian Physicists have received this distinct honour in the last 39 years since its inception. These include Prof. ECG Sudarshan, Prof. Govind Swaroop, Prof. TV Ramakrishnan, Prof. Asoke Sen, Prof. Ajay Sood, Prof. Deepak Dhar, Prof. T. Padmanabhan and Prof. DD Sarma.
Prof. Ogale has co-authored over 550 peer-reviewed publications in reputed international journals. He has 10 granted US patents based on Research entirely done in India. He has also co-edited three books for Springer, Wiley-VCH and Elsevier. Prof. Ogale has given numerous invited talks in National and International conferences in India and abroad. He is on the editorial advisory boards of several contemporary high impact journals. Prof. Ogale’s h-index is 95 with over 43000 citations.
